Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets the baseline rules for using DiagonalRoot services. It exists to protect customers, infrastructure stability, and the wider internet ecosystem.

2. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the Services to engage in, encourage, or facilitate any of the following:

• Illegal content or activity (including content that violates applicable laws or regulations).
• Malware or exploitation (viruses, ransomware, botnets, backdoors, cryptominers, credential theft, or exploitation attempts).
• Unauthorized access (attempts to access accounts, systems, networks, or data without permission).
• Network abuse (DoS/DDoS attacks, scanning, flooding, packet spoofing, or activity that disrupts other users or networks).
• Fraud and deception (phishing, scams, impersonation, payment fraud, pyramid schemes, or misleading commercial practices).
• Abusive content (credible threats of violence, harassment, or content intended to incite harm).

3. Content and Hosting Rules

Unless explicitly permitted by a purchased product, the following uses are not allowed on standard web hosting plans:

• Public file repositories, warez, piracy, or large scale file sharing
• Backup storage unrelated to the hosted site/application
• Adult content where prohibited by applicable law or payment provider requirements

Disk space and bandwidth must be used primarily for the operation of the service you purchased.

4. Security Responsibilities

You are responsible for securing your applications and credentials, including keeping software up to date, using strong passwords, and removing compromised scripts. If your service is compromised and used for abuse, we may suspend it to protect the platform.

5. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in warnings, rate limiting, suspension, or termination. In urgent cases (security threats, abuse, or legal risk) we may act immediately. Where reasonable, we aim to provide notice and an opportunity to remediate.

6. Reporting Abuse

If you believe our Services are being used for abusive or illegal activity, please report it via https://sp.diagonalroot.com/submitticket.php with as much detail as possible (timestamps, logs, IPs, and evidence).
